About a thousand residents of the Cañada Real Galiana, convened by the Assembly of Neighbours have conducted a demonstration consisting of two headers that came from different points (sector 6, sector 4) together with the first home demolished in 2007, in Sector 5, then rebuilt with the help of many people. On that housing weighs a new threat of imminent demolition by the City of Madrid.
The demonstrators carried banners in Arabic and Castilian demanding the cessation of all demolitions as an initial emergency measure to end the permanent distress experienced by neighbors. From then apply for a real dialogue with neighborhood participation to address the general situation of the real canyon.
The event ended with a popular food, with dishes of paella and couscous, and music of different cultures living in Canada. Have also been collecting signatures to be delivered to the City Councils of Madrid and next week Rivas.
